Dr. Wu Bingfang currently is a professor of Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is co-chair of GEO GEOGLAM flagship; Chair of Remote Sensing Technical Committee of China Ecology Association, Chair of Digital Agriculture Technical Committee of China National Society of Digital Earth.

His research interests are the remote sensing methodologies and applications in agriculture, water resource and ecosystem, especially in crop monitoring, evapotranspiration (ET), and landcover. He has led the development of remote sensing based operational monitoring systems including CropWatch since 1992, DroughtWatch since 1993, ETWatch since 2002.

He has published 10 monographs including ChinaCover atlas, and more than 380 peer-reviewed papers.
