First Announcement - Call for Session Proposals
The International Workshop on Geography and Sustainability 2025
Theme: Geography and Sustainable Development: Challenges and Opportunities
(October 17-20, 2025 · Xi'an, Shaanxi, China)
The International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development launched by UNESCO highly recognized the importance of basic sciences for attaining sustainable development. As a transdisciplinary discipline studying the coupled human and nature systems and their interactions, geography has natural advantages to promote sustainable development by providing the underpinning theories, methodologies, models and data. Geographers have made important contributions to exploring the nexus between the natural and social sciences, and delivered knowledge and experiences that are needed to support transformation towards sustainable development.
The International Workshop on Geography and Sustainability 2025 aims to explore the opportunities associated with geography and sustainable development from a transdisciplinary perspective. We warmly welcome session proposal submissions under the workshop theme “Geography and Sustainable Development: From a Transdisciplinary Perspective”. Those submitting the proposal should provide basic information on session title, convener (s), a short description of the session including the scope, content, goals, and specific requirements of the session.
Deadline for session proposal submission: April 20, 2025
